This page explains the cookies used on this website, what they do and how you can choose which ones we use. It goes with our privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the website remember things between pages or visits, such as what is in your basket or that you are signed in. Some are essential for a website to work; others are optional, and we only use those if you agree.
Your choices
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept optional cookies. You can accept all of them, use only essential cookies, or choose category by category. Change your mind at any time with the round cookie button in the bottom corner of any page, or here:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block essential cookies, the basket, checkout and sign-in won’t work.
The types of cookie we use
- Essential (always on): needed for the website to work, such as your basket and checkout, signing in to your account, booking securely and remembering your cookie choices.
- Preferences (optional): remember choices you make, such as your name and email when you leave a comment.
- Analytics (optional): record how you found our shop, saved with any order you place, so we know which links bring people to us.
- Embedded content (optional): maps, videos or posts from other websites such as Google Maps or YouTube. We don’t embed any at the moment: our map links open Google Maps in a new tab. If we add some, they will only load once you allow embedded content. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Cookies on this website
This is every cookie this website sets. Names ending in “…” have a code added that is different for each website.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
gsc_consent | Remembers your cookie choices, so we don’t ask on every page. | 6 months | Essential |
wp_woocommerce_session_… | Keeps your basket and checkout details together while you shop. | 2 days (7 days when signed in) | Essential |
woocommerce_items_in_cart | Tells the website whether your basket has anything in it. | Until you close your browser | Essential |
woocommerce_cart_hash | Tells the website when your basket has changed, so it shows the right total. | Until you close your browser | Essential |
wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_… | Keep you signed in to your account (and our staff to the website). | Until you close your browser, or 14 days if you tick “Remember me” | Essential |
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks that your browser accepts cookies when you sign in. | Until you close your browser | Essential |
wp-settings-…, wp-settings-time-… | Staff only: remember how the website’s dashboard is laid out. | 1 year | Essential |
comment_author_… | Remember your name and email for next time, only if you tick “Save my name” when leaving a comment. | 1 year | Preferences |
sbjs_current, sbjs_first, sbjs_session, sbjs_udata and other sbjs_ cookies | Record how you arrived at our shop (for example from a search engine, a social media link or directly) so it is saved with any order you place. Set by our shop software (WooCommerce order attribution). | Your visit (ends 30 minutes after your last page) | Analytics |
The shop may also keep a copy of your basket in your browser’s own storage so pages load quickly. Like the basket cookies, this is essential and holds no payment details.
Our visitor statistics use no cookies
We count page views and visits with our own simple statistics, kept on our own server. They use no cookies and no third-party trackers. Each visit is counted with a code that changes every day, so no one can be followed from one day to the next, and we don’t store IP addresses for statistics. The counts are anonymous and are kept for about 13 months.
Other websites
Links to our social media pages, WhatsApp and Google Maps take you to those websites, which have their own cookie and privacy policies.
